A vegetable garden begins...

3 raspberry canes planted in a temporary home last September.

Tomato bushes planted last September were slow growing and not as prolific as we were used to down on the plains. The Tommy Tomatoes did okay, but there wasn't enough warm weather last Summer for the other varieties to give us more than 3-4 tomatoes per bush and some bushes didn't grow enough to produce at all. The silverbeet plant did alright and is still producing this Spring.

More tomato seedlings

Chives, parsley and mint on the front verandah.

Close up of chives and Curly Parsley.

Flat parsley/Italian Parsley. This went to seed late in Summer and self seeded, those seeds are starting to come up this Spring.
Follow us and look for updates in our progress this year, including out 2 vegetable beds made during a working bee by Smiley and some of his mates. That was planted out in April and is now producing snowpeas, bok choy and lettuce.

Goodbye til next time,
Sunshine
